India won by 304 runs
PLAYER OF THE MATCH Shikhar Dhawan
India would be mighty pleased with their performance in this Test match. Both not-original-starters in the playing XI, Shikhar Dhawan and Abhinav Mukund, impressed with their batting show. While Dhawan scored a splendid 190, Mukund batted well for his 81. Pujara got a ton in the first innings, Kohli scored one in the second, Rahane and Pandya shone when their opportunities came.
As far as the bowling was concerned, Ravindra Jadeja bagged a total of six wickets to lead the way. The pacers impressed, especially Mohammed Shami. Ashwin came good with vital strikes towards the end. A very rounded performance if one could say and they would be more than delighted to have started the tour on a high. For Sri Lanka, there are deeper problems than just the injuries. Can they fight back? We shall know soon. Thanks for joining us. Until then, goodbye!

- 126 runs scored by Shikhar Dhawan is the lunch-tea session is the second most for any Indian player in any session of a Test after Sehwag's 133 in the tea-close session at the Brabourne against SL in 2009.
